Frontline Combo OFFER

For the months of May and June we have a special Frontline Combo promotion at the practice. If you buy a 6 pack of Frontline Combo (or two 3 packs) you will be entitled to a free pipette. Frontline Combo is not only an adulticide (killing adult fleas on your pet) but it inhibitis the development of eggs, larvae and pupae, (thus protecting your home as well). It is effective against ticks too.

Joint supplements for dogs and cats

Joint supplements (containing glucosamine and chondroitin) are used by people around the world for arthritis. Vets have also been using them for many years for dogs and cats, with great results. They supply the 'building blocks' to maintain healthy cartilage and joint fluid. We are being questioned by lots of clients as to why they should buy their joint supplements from us rather than using human preparations or cheaper alternatives on the internet, and there are several reasons as to why. Joint supplements are 'neutraceuticals' so food supplements rather than medicines. This means that they are totally unregulated by any sort of professional body. What you buy may not contain the levels of glucosamine or chondroitin it claims to, and in some cases it may contain no active ingredients at all. However the products we sell contain the quantities as stated on the packaging. Only 40% of glucosamine sulphate (used in most human preparations) is active (and therefore of use), compared to 80% in glucosamine hydrochloride (used in our veterinary products). In addition 20% of glucosamine sulphate is salt. Most animals that suffer from joint problmes tend to be elderly, and so high levels of salt can be detrimental to them. The chondroitin portion of joint supplements is often sharks cartilage which is highly unethical. Again our products contain chondroitin from mammalian sources (pigs windpipes). This form can be much more readily absorbed by dogs and cats. If you have noticed your pet 'slowing down' then talk to one of our vets or nurses about joint supplements. Used early they can delay the progression of arthritis and prevent or delay the need for drugs.

New Milbemax boxes, and long-term OFFER

Milbemax worming tablets are now available in handy four tablet boxes. This should make it easier for you to keep up to date with your dog or cat's worming, by buying four doses (a years supply) in one go. To promote these new boxes we are running a long term OFFER, which is 20% off the usual price. This will replace our old loyalty scheme, however for all you with our loyalty cards half complete we will continue to honour them.
